4 STEPS TO GOD

Four Steps To God

1. God Loves You!
The Bible says, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life"
The problem is that
2. All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong. This is called sin, and our sins have separated us from God.The Bible says “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” God is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from God forever. The Bible says “The wages of sin is death.”
The good news is that, about 2,000 years ago,
3. God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. “God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life -- of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me."God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name." You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior.
4. If you want to accept Christ as Savior and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this:"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always." Did you pray this prayer?

Mother's Day Prayer

Mother's Day Prayer,

I love you, Mom. I love your aliveness, your joy in living, your understanding, your giving. And what I love best of allis that you love me.God of all Mothers, thank you for my mom! AMEN

A prayer of Gratitude for my Mother.

Prayer of Gratitude for my Mother
Dear Lord, today I turn to you to give you thanks for my mother. With your own gift of life, she bore me in her womb and gave me life. She tenderly, patiently cared for me and taught me to walk and talk. She read to me and made me laugh. No one delighted in my successes more; no one could comfort me better in my failures. I am so grateful for how she mothered me and mentored me, and even disciplined me. Please bless her, Lord, and comfort her. Help her loving heart to continue to love and give of herself to others. Strengthen her when she is down and give her hope when she is discouraged. Most of all, Lord, on this Mother's Day, give my mother the graces she most needs and desires today. I ask you this, in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior forever and ever. AMEN

A prayer for Mothers

A Prayer for Mothers

Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
We thank You for our mothers to whom You have entrusted the care of every precious human life from its very beginning in the womb.
You have given to woman the capacity of participating with You in the creation of new life. Grant that every woman may come to understand the full meaning of that blessing, which gives her an unlimited capacity for selfless love for every child she may be privileged to bear, and for all Your children.
Watch over every mother who is with child, strengthen her faith in Your fatherly care and love for her and for her unborn baby. Give her courage in times of fear or pain, understanding in times of uncertainty and doubt, and hope in times of trouble. Grant her joy in the birth of her child.
To mothers You have given the great privilege and responsibility of being a child's first teacher and spiritual guide. Grant that all mothers may worthily foster the faith of their children, following the example of Mary, Elizabeth, and other holy women who follow Christ. Help mothers to grow daily in knowledge and understanding of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and grant them the wisdom to impart this knowledge faithfully to their children, and to all who depend upon them.
Assist all "spiritual mothers", those who, though they may have no children of their own, nevertheless selflessly care for the children of others -- of every age and state in life. Grant that they may know the joy of fulfilling this motherly calling of women, whether in teaching, nursing, religious life, or in other work which recognizes and fosters the true dignity of every human being created in Your image and likeness.
We beseech You to send Your Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to all mothers who sorrow for children that have died, are ill or estranged from their families, or who are in trouble or danger of any kind. Help grieving mothers to rely on Your tender mercy and fatherly love for all your children.
We ask your blessing on all those to whom You have entrusted motherhood. May Your Holy Spirit constantly inspire and strengthen them. May they ever follow the example of Mary, mother of Our Lord, and imitate her fidelity, her humility, and her self-giving love. May all mothers receive Your Grace abundantly in this earthly life, and may they look forward to eternal joy in Your presence in the life to come.
We ask this through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. AMEN

A personal Prayer

Today as I come to thee on bended knee, O Lord I ask not for fame, or fortune, for love from another, or blessings from thee, I cast my worldly wants aside and ask O Lord; How, may I be of service to thee?

Prayer for Mothers

Father God, I humbly implore You to grant Your special graces and blessing to our dear mother....(N). May she be the shrine of peace, purity, love and faith.I beg You, dear Lord, to protect and bless her through out the days of her life. AMEN

The man born blind.

In today's Gospel reading; it talk about the story of the blind man born blind, it tells us how vital it is that we come to "SEE" Jesus in a whole new light and confess him as Lord. Having his physical sight restored was only the beginning of the blind man's journet. His heart had to be awakened as well, just as our hearts must be. And that's the question we are left with today: Do I know Jesus in my heart? Am I allowing the Holy Spirit to show me more of who Jesus is? At Mass today, ask for that revelation. Tell the Father that you want to echo the once-blind man: "I do believe, Lord!" (John 9:38)
" Lord Jesus help me to step out of the shadows and into Your light today. Shine Your glory into my heart so that I may give You my life." AMEN

Always Give Thanks

ALWAYS GIVE THANKS.

Almighty God, the source of all life,
Thank you for creating us
in your own image and likeness.
Thank you for sending your only-begotten Son,
Our Lord Jesus Christ to come and save us.
Thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit
to dwell in our hearts and sanctify us.
Thank you for giving us Mary to be our Mother.
Thank you for providing everyday for our bodily,
emotional and spiritual needs.
Thank you for loving us and calling us to live
eternally with You in heaven. AMEN

Thank You, Lord, for always being ready to guide us. May I learn to look to You in times of decision, and may I come to cherish Your loving guidance more each day.
Thank You, Jesus, for the gift of Your Holy Spirit! Thank You that You have not abandoned us but have given us a taste of Your own heavenly life.
Lord Jesus, thank you for your perfect love that casts out fear. Thank you for your faithfulness to me even when I am unfaithful. Your love and faithfulness enable me to stand firm in the midst of temptation and tragedy. Help me give you every situation so that, more and more, you can dwell in me.

Office Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit!

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Office Prayer

LORD Jesus, as I enter this workplace, I bring Your presence with me. I speak Your peace, Your grace, and Your perfect order into the atmosphere of this office. I acknowledge Your Lordship over all that will be spoken, thought, decided and accomplished within these walls. LORD Jesus, I thank You for the gifts You have deposited in me. I do not take them lightly, but commit to using them responsibly and well. Give me a fresh supply of truth and beauty on which to draw as I do my job. Anoint my creativity, my ideas, and my energy so that even my smallest task may bring You honor. LORD, when I'm confused, guide me. When I'm weary, energize me. LORD, when I'm burned out, infuse me with the Light of Your Holy Spirit. May the work that I do and the way that I do it bring hope, life and courage to all that I come into contact with today. And, oh LORD, even in this day's most stressful moments, may I rest in You. In Your strong and powerful Name I pray. Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph the Worker - (Patron Saint of Working People and Social Justice)

Joseph, by the work of your hands and the sweat of your brow, you supported Jesus and Mary, and had the Son of God as your fellow worker. Teach me to work as you did, with patience and perseverance, for God and for those whom God has given me to support. Teach me to see in my fellow workers the Christ who desires to be in them, that I may always be charitable and forbearing towards all. Grant me to look upon work with the eyes of faith, so that I shall recognize in it my share in God's own creative activity and in Christ's work of our redemption, and so take pride in it. When it is pleasant and productive, remind me to give thanks to God for it. And when it is burdensome, teach me to offer it to God, in reparation for my sins and the sins of the world. (Note: This prayer was taken from the booklet "Devotions to Saint Joseph" by Brian Moore, S.J., printed and published by the Society of St. Paul.)

COME AND SEE

COME FOLLOW ME

The seven deadly sins

The Seven Deadly Sins
"Sin creates [an inclination] to sin; it engenders vice by repetition of the same acts. This results in perverse inclinations which cloud conscience and corrupt the concrete judgment of good and evil. Thus sin tends to reproduce itself and reinforce itself, but it cannot destroy the moral sense at its root."
Para. 1865, Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1994

Why bother about the Seven Deadly Sins?
Before even beginning a discussion of these Seven Deadly Sins, also known as "capital sins," it may be useful to discuss a few differences among Christians on this subject. Some people feel it is better to take a more positive approach to faith and not dwell on sin. Others believe all sin is equally repugnant to God, and so any classification of sins is wrong. Still others just want to forget the whole thing since they are saved and God loves them and really doesn't care about all this "stuff."
Inscribed in ancient times at the Oracle at Delphi: "Know thyself." Self-knowledge follows closely behind the knowledge of God, and self-knowledge for anyone means knowledge of sin. "My own heart shows me the way of the ungodly." Scripture says we are all sinners, and we don't mind as long as the sins are nameless and faceless. When we name a sin found in ourselves (by Grace) it is as though we are confronted in the back alleys of our souls with furtive saboteurs and muggers who seek to prevent our union with God. The sudden self-revelation of a serious fault is one thing: the discovery of a deadly sin which we hate very much in others is worse. It is like finding out a spouse is unfaithful, or worse, that we have been blindly unfaithful to the Spouse of our soul.
The following pages on the deadly sins may lead to horrible discoveries. Bear in mind:
· Friends will almost never volunteer this information.
· If they do, we will not accept it.
· God forgives anything, even repeatedly, so do not be afraid.
A combination of good spiritual reading (nothing too recent), nearly constant prayer, and reflection on the repetitive patterns of life works well for naming our sins. Remarks made in job performance reviews and conversations with people who dislike us are especially revealing. Our enemies usually lack the false charity to deny our sins. No wonder we are called to love them.
The human capacity for self-delusion is nearly limitless. We have all seen people claim great spirituality but do evil things and then ignore or rationalize them. Somehow we think we are immune to this phenomenon.

Prayer to Mary "The knots- looser"

PRAYER TO MARY “THE KNOTS-LOOSER”

Holy Mary, full of God’s presence, during the days of your Earthly life you agreed with all humility to the Father’s will And the evil one could never deceive you with confusing lies. You interceded for us to your Son for our needs and with complete simplicity and patience you gave us an example on how to solve the problems of life. You, who are our Mother, untie the knots of confusion and make us closed to the Lord. Holy Mary, Mother of God and ours, who with Motherly love solve the problems of our life, accept in your hands the troubles of N…..and free him/her/them from the ties of confusion set up by our evil enemy. Through your intercession and example, deliver us from every evil and solve the knots that separate us from the communion with God. Deliver us then from every confusion and mistake, so that we will preserve in our heart a dwelling place for Him, and be able to serve Him in our brethren, AMEN.

Prayer for the Home

Pray for the home.
Mary, Queen of heaven, be Queen also of our home. Help us to love God, to avoid sin and to live in peace with one another. Help us in every need, keep us from all harm. Comfort us in our afflictions and may the prayers we offer to you be a sure promise of your heavenly protection. AMEN.

The Holy Spirit

We need to put our faith into action by giving the Holy Spirit more room to work. When we get out of ourselves and serve other people, we can draw on the spirit's grace and power. We can ask the Spirit to release his gifts in us so that we can minister His love to people and not just our good intentions.

What good deed is the Spirit inspiring you to do? Perhaps to visit the sick, elderly, or imprisoned. Maybe he is asking you to open your own home inhospitality. He may be leading you to volunteer at your parish, or at a nearby soup kitchen. Or perhaps you know someone who is depressed and lonely, and would deeply apreciate someone to talk to. If you are not sure how to serve, just pray about it - the Spirit will surely lead you to those who need just what you have to give.

"Holy Spirit, fill me anew with your presence. Stir into flame your power within me, that I may be transformed by the fire of your love" AMEN. (Taken from The word among us)
